Spiritual gifts for you, right now, as you are: the gift of love

Do you know that you are loved right this very minute? You are. You did nothing to deserve it. You don’t have to do anything to keep it. It is yours right here, right now, and always.

Love is a gift. It is meant to be accepted and given freely. When we manage to believe, embrace, and walk in love daily, life is more manageable and more enjoyable; even if we aren’t getting what we want or are in crisis or in pain.

When we come from a place of love we release a power so great that others pick it up from us and carry it with them on their journey; ever widening the circle. We create a chain reaction of love when we live it. Forgiveness, restored relationships, and acceptance of others all come from a place of love. Miracles come from a place of love. And what you put out there you get back.

Would you like your life to be filled with the gift of love? Try the following:

Know and accept that you are loved: “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8 (NIV)  You are loved.

Reciprocate: “Teacher, which is the Greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.”  – Matthew 22:36-38 (NIV)  Give that love right back.

Pass it on: “And the second is like it.:  ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’  All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” – Matthew 22:39-40. (NIV)  The world is full of your neighbors. Love them.

One more thing: Understand what love is and isn’t: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always, hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” – 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 (NIV).

I wonder what kind of a world we would have if everyone knew that they were loved, gave that love right back, and passed it on to others. Surely positive change would occur. Try it today. You will start to enjoy a life that comes from a place of love and you will see a powerful chain reaction in your life.

Love is a gift. It is meant to be accepted and given freely.
