Take the very best care of what you already have

If I were to ask you what you already have in your life, would your face light up as you proceeded to give me a grand list of what you know you have right now? If so, I would guess that you already understand the principle of taking the very best care of what you already have. Why? Because people who practice good stewardship also demonstrate an attitude of gratitude. If not, I would like to share this life changing principle with you. Let me explain:

Sometimes we are so busy focussing on what we don’t have, what we have that isn’t good enough, and what we want, that not only do we not see the blessings that already exist, but we tend to dismiss them, paying no attention until they are broken or gone. We are mediocre stewards of tremendous gifts. We don’t take very good care.

I’m not just talking about material possessions. In fact, we are more likely to take good care of stuff that we have paid for, or are paying for, than we are ourselves or others. I am talking about ALL that you have; from your home to your health to your loved ones to you.

Taking the very best care of what you already have means taking care of your body, your spirit, and your mind; taking care of yourself. It means taking care of the people you say you love. It means taking care of the material gifts you do have. As you work your way out from self it also includes taking care of your home, community, state, country. And finally, it means taking care of humanity and this beautiful home we all reside in.

Why put so much into being “carefull”? Because when you take the very best care of what you already have, you see all of your wonderful gifts, and you are grateful for the bounty you have received. You are saying thank you with your actions. When you take it all for granted and only wish for more, you miss what is right in front of you.

Think about it. Are you enjoying being a good steward of your gifts? Or are you too busy looking for more. Try taking excellent care of the gifts that you already have. Watch your life change for the better; not because you have acquired more, but because you have turned your full attention to what you already have; opening the door to gratitude, contentment, and an undeniable sense of well-being.

Try taking excellent care of the gifts that you already have.

  4. Happiness is wanting what you already have and sharing the best of it. When we let the material get in the way of the living and sharing there can be no growth. Growth is essential to life. Share your gifts then watch love grow.
